Elissa Von Letkemann Art & Design specializes in print and packaging and has won several accolades and awards. Von Letkemann has worked with Stonewall Kitchen, most notably as the lead designer on the Barefoot Contessa line of gourmet foods, Boston's Healthworks Fitness Clubs, The Christmas Tree Shops, and BJ's. Recent projects include high-end wedding invitations, refreshing the visual identity of The Lollipop Tree, labels for a new line of wildflower extract products from Sweet Grass Farm, and the 2009 summer identity of the RiverRun Bookstore in Portsmouth, NH. Her design work has appeared in numerous catalogs, newspapers and magazines. With her design expertise and a masters degree in graphic design from Boston University, Elissa Von Letkemann lectures on the History of Graphic Design, most recently at Wiggin Memorial Library in Stratham, NH and she teaches graphic design at The New England School of Art & Design at Suffolk University. Also a visual artist, her artwork has appeared in gallery shows and private collections in New York, NY, Cambridge, MA and Portsmouth, NH. |

The Favorite Foods story began 18 years ago. Jeff Barstow, founder and president of Favorite Foods, started the company with a van and a plan to distribute dry goods to area restaurants. He had no direct distribution experience, and had never owned his own company, but he was confident he could service the restaurants of the NH and ME Seacoast. After being won over by customers visited during a brief vacation to the area, Jeff's brother Chris joined Favorite Foods to serve as the Vice President of Sales. At the time, Favorite Foods' home was a leased 5,000 square foot unit in a multi-tenant building on West Road in Portsmouth, NH. Five years later, Favorite Foods was moved to a leased 15,000 square foot facility just off the Spaulding Turnpike in Newington NH. Then, in 1999, Favorite Foods purchased and moved into its current facility, a 22,000 square foot building in Somersworth, NH. The company has enough room to add 33,000 square foot of addition warehouse space on the existing lot as well as more room for expansion an the additional four acres of land recently purchased across the street. The success of Favorite Foods is about much, much more than it's rapidly expanding product line and growing warehouse however. From the very beginning, Jeff and Chris have understood that they only way they would distinguish themselves from the more established distributors was to offer superior service. This sentiment is evident when speaking with any of the loyal Favorite Foods customers. A philosophy and commitment to acknowledge and meet each restaurant's individual needs is demonstrated each and every day by all members of the Favorite Foods team. Also representative of this philosophy is FIRA, the Favorite Independent Restaurant Association, which was begun by Favorite Foods in 2001. Today, Favorite Foods has grown into a $20 million/year broadline foodservice distributor with 32 employees running 7 trucks from their 22,000 square foot distribution center. Geographic coverage includes Concord and Manchester, NH. In the process the company has earned an enviable reputation for its customer driven focus and progressive approach to doing business. |
